‘Ageless’ Sally Field Glows At 76 At SAG Awards – Despite Her ‘Puffy Eyes’ She Kept Promise To Age Naturally.
Sally Field is one of the very few performers to get a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Lifetime Achievement Award on February 26, 2023! The “Amazing Spider-Man” star was overjoyed as she delivered her award speech.
Despite her advanced age, the singer looked stunning during her presence at the awards event. She donned a unique black dress that suited her nicely and displayed an exquisite pattern.
The event was hosted at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, and admirers couldn’t stop praising the actress. Field has already spoken candidly about her opinions about aging.
During her award speech, Field said that acting has always been about discovering those totally, absolutely, and sometimes dangerously alive moments. The actress also discussed how Hollywood stereotyped her for comedic roles.
She said that being considered seriously as an actor in the 1960s and 1970s was difficult. Field commented that simple things were overrated after getting her award from her “Amazing Spider-Man” co-star Andrew Garfield.
When he delivered the prize to the renowned actress, Garfield congratulated her for having a life committed to love, art, and service. Netflix posted a video of the actor’s acceptance speech on its YouTube page.
Field’s admirers took to the social media platform’s comment area to express their wonderful feelings about the actress, who looked lovely at the event.
Someone else said Garfield’s former co-star was a “great actress” who was often underappreciated. A third individual remarked that Field looked “amazing” during the ceremony, and it was nice to see her get the award.
The fan had no doubt that the celebrity deserved it; she had grown up watching her perform and had never been disappointed. The sender ended their letter by asking God to bless her for all of her efforts in bringing tales to life.
Another YouTube user described the actress as a “absolute queen” to whom one owed their lives, influence, skill, service, and example. Apart from what she’s done for Hollywood as an actress, Field has been an indirect inspiration for self-love.
In March 2016, Field discussed her opinions on being in her 70s and aging during an NPR interview. The “Lincoln” heroine was questioned about appearing at her age in movies and how Hollywood saw her bravery.
The actress said she didn’t agree with that point of view, but she was glad to get praise instead of being scolded. Field did mention that she was an old lady, since 70 was considered ancient, but it was alright with her.
The “Steel Magnolias” actress said that she had gained power through age and that she owned, merited, earned, and had a right to it. She was honest enough to express that she didn’t like her neck and a lot of other things, which was OK.
Her age, she was reaching 70 in 2016, had given her a worth that she didn’t feel she had at 50, 40, 30, or even 20. That didn’t arrive until Field had been in the saddle for many years, according to Field.
The actress was questioned about what drew her to the character of Doris, a lady in her late 60s with borderline personality difficulties, in the film “Hello, My Name Is Doris” that year. She added that it was the result of a one-of-a-kind narrative that looked at a variety of topics.
The star said that it addressed the transition from one stage to another, whether it was from infancy to kid, teenager to young adult, and finally middle age. She saw development as an ongoing process.
Field announced in 2009 that she will not get cosmetic surgery to create a younger version of herself. The previous year, Jane Fonda said that she and her co-star had vowed not to get cosmetic surgery.
In Fonda’s instance, she wasn’t going to undergo additional surgeries. When asked about her friend’s assertion, the “Brothers & Sisters” actress grinned and said she didn’t believe they’d made the deal.
Whether or not the duo had formed the deal, Field had her own thoughts on the subject. The actress said that, when she saw herself on television, she honestly thought that she wished that weren’t happening to her neck. And her face is falling, and her eyes are bulging.
She then saw people who had cosmetic surgery and felt they were gorgeous when they were younger. She felt they shouldn’t go through with the medical treatment since it was insulting to who they were today.
Fields’ enthusiasm for her profession took precedence over her vanity, yet she didn’t want to seem worn and old; yet, she understood that there was nothing she could do. Her true calling in life was to be an actress.
The actress claimed she worried more about getting an opportunity to perform parts she hadn’t acted than caring about if her neck looked like “someone’s bedroom curtains.” While she wasn’t doing what she loved, Field liked being with her grandkids.
Field revealed in 2020 that working kept her energised, but her “biggest delight” was her family. Her boys, she claimed, were the three things she was most proud of because they were loving, compassionate, and productive individuals.
She stated that they each have their own successes and abilities. Peter Craig was her eldest child from her marriage to Steve Craig, and Eli Craig was his younger brother.
Although Peter was a novelist and screenwriter, his brother was a director and actor. Sam Greisman, Field’s youngest child from her marriage to Alan Greisman, was a filmmaker.
Isabel, Sophie, Ogden, Noah, and Colin are the offspring of her two eldest sons. They paid numerous visits to the actress’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood home in Los Angeles, with a friend telling them that the celebrity enjoyed having so many grandkids.
Field once said that her whole life revolved around her kids and grandkids. She said that she was not married and that she did not have a separate existence from her family since they were everything to her.
The “Forrest Gump” actor said that although she was not opposed to finding love, it was not a priority in her life. A friend said that the actress wouldn’t hide it if she met someone special, because she was an optimist at heart and was also happy with herself.
Field spent her free time reading novels, doing needlework, and gardening when she wasn’t interacting with her family. Her companion said she never sat down and was constantly doing something.
