‘You can’t sit around’: Woman celebrates 105th birthday, shares secret to staying young

O’FALLON, Mo. (TND) — A Missouri woman recently celebrated an unbelievable milestone: her 105th birthday.
Irene Fee was born in 1918 and said she remembers traveling to church in a horse and buggy.
“We lived about four miles from town and my mother drove the horse and we went to church,” she recalled to KSDK.
Fee told the station she lost her husband two decades ago. They were together for a whopping 67 years. The centenarian prefers not to dwell on the past, though, and said that’s how she stays young.
I think you’ve got to keep your mind and your body active … You can’t sit around,” Fee said.
She likes keeping up with current headlines, tracking the stock market, painting, doing embroidery and tracing genealogy.
“She’s interested in so many different things that she’s just always looking for something new,” said her son Richard Fee.
Fee said she’s even been able to trace her lineage back to the 1540s in Dublin, Ireland.
