Roseanne Barr Slammed for Looking ‘Pathetic’ & ‘Drunk’ as She Dances in New Video after Comeback

Fans blasted Roseanne Barr for looking “drunk” and “pathetic” in a new video after her big comeback.
After almost a five-year hiatus following her firing, the actress returned to the stage.
She opened up about who of her co-stars were responsible for her “destroyed” life and revealed that only one celebrity defended her.

Nearly five years after ABC canceled Roseanne Barr’s television comedy, the actress has finally made her major comeback! The star returned to the industry with her stand-up special “Roseanne Barr: Cancel This!”

Her special debuted on the same day on the streaming service as a documentary on her career titled “Who Is Roseanne Barr?” In May 2018, the star lost her show, “Roseanne,” when she shared a tweet that was seen as racist.

At the time, Barr said President Barack Obama’s former advisor, Valerie Jarrett, was the offspring of the “Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes.” When executives urged the comedian to go on television shows to apologize, she allegedly ignored them.

They reacted by canceling “Roseanne,” promptly fired the actress, and revived the series as “The Conners,” without Barr. However, she later claimed, “they denied me the right to apologize” and said when they initially called, she explained how she’d thought Jarrett, who was Black, was White.

The star reportedly asked to go on her show and explain, but they wouldn’t let her and decided her apology was a lie. The comedian celebrated her return to Hollywood by dancing in a new video which left her fans with mixed reactions.

Why Did Fans Call Out Roseanne?

In February 2023, days after her return was announced, Barr appeared to be in high spirits as she recorded herself in a car and sang along to a song before titling the clip “Fight the Power.” At one point, she and a friend were seen dancing in front of a store.

The actress’ followers shared their opinions in the comment section, with one person writing, “Oh no! Mami is too drunk.” Someone else concured with the first person but added three teary-eyed laughing emoticons.

A third person thought the comedian had “fell off” and was now “pathetic’ and a “desperate sell out.” Another Instagram user believed Barr’s “legacy” was “forever tarnished,” while someone else urged her to “hang it up” because she had passed her prime and was embarrassing herself.

The follower said the star was “looking like a fool,” especially for going on Tucker Carlson’s show. Another person felt it was unrealistic for a multimillionaire who was chauffeured around to encourage people to fight the power while pretending she was part of the working class, calling her “pathetic,” with someone else stating:

“Congrats. You’re the joke now.”

However, not everyone was displeased with Barr as one fan laughed and said Barr or “lady in red,” was their idol. Another supportive fan shared that they loved her, calling her a “queen,” and couldn’t imagine having a hang out with the comedian at night.

The person believed tears of laughter were coming and celebrated her return. Someone else added a teary-eyed laughing emoticon and also wished to hang out with the star, while another follower became nostalgic, recalling a day they were drunk and rode on a bike carriage as Bella on the AC Boardwalk.

The person confessed that they didn’t regret their silliness and felt whether Barr was sober or not, they were there for that video. Another fan noted how the actress was having a “good time,” while someone else thought the clips was “awesome.”

The follower wanted to know who wouldn’t want to dance with the comedian before declaring their love and stating that the star rocked. although the actress had some support from her fans, she once felt like one former co-star betrayed her when she got canceled.

What Did Roseanne Say about Her “Roseanne” Co-stars after Firing?

Almost 30 minutes before ABC announced its cancelation of “Roseanne,” Sara Gilbert, Barr’s former co-star on the show, tweeted how “abhorrent” her comments were. The former talk show host said they didn’t reflect the cast and crew’s beliefs or anyone associated with the television show.

Speaking up in 2019, the comedian said Gilbert’s “destroyed the show and my life with that tweet. She will never get enough until she consumes my liver with a fine Chianti.” Gilbert later revealed how heartbroken and disappointed she was over the canceled show and said Barr would always be her family and she’d forever love her.

When asked how she was doing in February 2023, the actress said she’d survived and had finally came out the other side of it. However, she admitted that it had been “terrifying” and described what happened to her as a “witch-burning,” adding:

“I would die many times.”

Barr shared that her experience was like “the dark night of the soul” and felt like satan had come against her to tear her apart as punishment for believing in God. The comedian lamented, “I’m the only person who’s lost everything, whose life’s work was stolen, stolen by people who I thought loved me.”

She also recalled that there had been silence, and no one in Hollywood defended her publicly except Mo’nique. Barr described Mo’nique as close, brave, and a dear friend, showing her gratitude for the fellow comedian and actress.
